Burton Cummings coming to Niagara Falls

The convention centre on Stanley Avenue.

Canadian Music Hall of Famer Burton Cummings will return to Niagara in December to make his Live by the Falls debut.

Cummings, who was the keyboardist and lead vocalist for The Guess Who, emerged out of Winnipeg, MB, to pen and perform legendary chart toppers such as These Eyes, Laughing, Undun, No Time and the smash hit, American Woman.

Dubbed one of the greatest rock bands in Canadian history, it was only until 1975 that he led The Guess Who before disbanding it to start a solo career.

Since that time, Cummings has never run out of steam or changed course, said Noel Buckley, president and general manager of the Scotiabank Convention Centre.

His music is defined by the songs and albums he left us as a member of The Guess Who,he said.

Anyone who has followed Burton Cummings long solo career knows his slew of awards and achievements are a testament to his legendary place in rock & roll music history.

Burton Cummings & Band will perform on Dec. 29 at the convention centre on Stanley Avenue.

Tickets will be available starting this Friday for $51.70 (all inclusive).

They can be purchased online at fallsconventions.com, or sccniagara.ticketpro.ca, by phone with Ticketpro at 1-888-655-9090, or by visiting the convention centre box office. Box office hours are Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There's something to be said for the sold-out shows he has been playing all across Canada, said Buckley.

His talent on stage is second to none, and that's what makes him one of the greats.

Fresh into its inaugural season, Live by the Falls aims to showcase the best in Canadian music to audiences. In the years leading up to the launch of this concert series, the convention centre has hosted many live concerts including Big Sugar, Jim Cuddy, Tim Hicks, Chantal Kreviazuk, Matthew Good and deadmau5 - covering a mix of different music genres and a wide range of performance formats.
